Strike Up The Band
Choreographer
Carnegie Hall
Ask most artists the question, “How do you get to Carnegie Hall?” and they will immediately answer “practice, practice, practice.” After decades of practice in musical theater, I was thrilled to receive a call from Ted Sperling inviting me to share my choreography on this iconic stage.
There are few things more thrilling and challenging that putting together tap dancing, sweeping duets, and musical comedy on a stage that is shared with 30 musicians and a 140 person choir. The score was inspiring and thrilling and a dream to choreograph to, but a puzzle to figure out in our 8’ by 30’ strip of danceable space.
Every artist was a star and a wonderful collaborator and I’m still amazed at what we accomplished in such a short time!
